The Lineage

Varuna D Jani represents the third generation of Popley. One of India’s most trusted and respected families since 1927. Her father, Ramchand Popley was the recipient of the prestigious President’s Award, a rare honour in the jewellery business. In the 1990s, Ramchand Popley extended his operations to Dubai, one of the first Indian jewellers to do so.

Varuna started her career with her father, by launching a signature collection under the Popley brand. Over the years she has garnered a loyal clientele in India and overseas, with her extremely unique and bold, handcrafted diamond jewellery. Her customers have come to appreciate the international craftsmanship, customer service, attention to detail and unique sense of style.

Woman as a designer and a jeweller

Varuna D Jani jewellery is different. Each of her pieces are a unique blend of Indian and international sensibilities and brings a much needed woman’s perspective to craftsmanship and detailing. Special care is taken to use minimum metal in the mountings to ensure that the brilliance of the diamond stands out. Her designs have been specifically appreciated by her women clients as elaborate, yet extremely light and wearable.

Varuna D Jani jewellery is meant for independent minded women who are not afraid to be different and are constantly looking for newer expressions of their individuality. They can be living in any part of the world.

Beauty in details

Starting from the hand drawn design to the final product it takes about 6-9 months to get the final piece in hand.The pieces are also designed to be multi-wearable, a unique feature of her jewelry - wherein one can separate a pendant or a brooch from a neck-piece and individually wear it. Designs once sold are never repeated, and customized pieces are also created keeping the wearers’ personality and requirements in mind.

“Finishing is by far the most important part of jewelry design. Unfortunately in the rush to produce large quantities, most jewelers neglect this aspect. Hence, a lot of customers have complaints of broken jewelry surprisingly within days after their purchase. Keeping this in mind, I ensure that the Varuna D Jani pieces are finished to perfection, thus being tamper-proof and sturdy” says Varuna.

The Varuna D Jani Experience

Varuna has brought the international style retailing experience to India. With her 3500 sq.ft. flagship store in Bandra, she has created a unique environment that is both a gallery and a retail outlet for her creations. There is also a separate lounge for VIPs where customers are serviced separately by Varuna herself.

You can walk into the Varuna D Jani outlet at , Monday to Saturday, 11am to 8.30pm.
